Chief Executive Officer

With a background in IT and Business Management, Rob has worked in the insurance market for over 20 years in both the direct insurer and broker markets.

His expertise and knowledge has been acquired through the acquisition, management and retention of many of the UKs leading affinity insurance programmes. Rob is involved in the day to day management of the business, its customers and helping to shape the strategic direction of the business as it grows.

New business acquisition remains a key focus of his role and he is always looking to engage with new clients to discuss how Sauce can help them grow through the use of new and exciting technology.

Mark Faraday

Chief Operating Officer

One of the founders, Mark, has a wealth of IT knowledge in the fintech industry and manages its day-to-day operations. Mark has previously held roles in the Insurance sector for Prudential before moving into a Commercial Directors role in a large-scale Marketing and IT organisation.

During his time in this role, he forged long-term relationships with numerous Motor Manufactures, including Renault and BMW group which proved instrumental in setting up our first online driveaway insurance platform. Mark now plays a crucial role in ensuring all our software platforms use the latest technology and maintaining the numerous software house integrations linked to our platform.

Richard Crowther

Head of Infrastructure

Richard has a massive passion for all things IT; he started programming at the age of 10 and has never looked back, going from strength to strength over the last 20 years. 

He started as a freelance developer, building various websites and internal systems for his client base. Then he went into a senior developer role at a car leasing company working on transforming their legacy IT platform to a new updated system, which enabled the company to grow in size and profit. 

Richard has been working at MBS for six years and working his way up to his current role as Head of Infrastructure. He was instrumental in transitioning from our co-located server set-up to AWS-managed services and continues shaping the vision for our hosting and application platforms. 

He has a keen interest in online security and data analytics, which can be seen across various guises within the MBS development world, and is keen to impart his knowledge to the broader development team. 

Rob Convery

Head of Development

Initially joining the MBS team as a contractor, Rob soon became a permanent member of the team and took on the responsibility of managing the Development Team.

He has a broad wealth of experience building both b2b and b2c applications and has worked with several big names within the IT sector, having worked in industries including Outsourced IT, Manufacturing, Sales, and Education. Much of his experience has been gained working on high-activity sites with tens of thousands of concurrent users, ensuring the application scales to meet any surges in demand.

Having a keen belief in Agile methodology, Rob influenced the introduction of “Agile Scrum” to MBS for larger builds. The company now benefits from both “Kanban” and “Scrum” methodologies as part of its processes. In addition to this, he has also introduced new technologies into the tech stack and employed Developers with a more diverse targeted skillset.

Rob has been working for MBS in total for just over four years, in his present role for three and a half years. He sees himself as much a teacher as a manager, ensuring the development team has the right skills to achieve growth and success in the future.
