Front End Developer

MBS use all the latest and greatest tools and we have transitioned across to a fully Agile-driven environment with full Scrum teams

We have eradicated legacy code, split our codebase into frontend and backend and added over ten new Developers to the team in recent times. We now need to add five more due to an abundance of fresh, entirely greenfield projects which require end-to-end builds.

Now could not be a better time to join us!

MBS started out using Vue as our JS framework of choice, moving through all the releases and now using Vue3 with a mix of largely Pinia but also a bit of VueX. They have also started using React on some projects and have a multilingual development team, some are Vue specialists and some are React so you’ll have the opportunity to cross-train in this role should that be of interest. Both React and Vue are used with TypeScript. You’ll also have the opportunity to become full-stack, pick up Cloud skills within AWS or step up to a team lead role if that’s something you’d like to do.

Other things to note:

  • We’re open to speaking with either Vue or React Developers, as long as you’re familiar with validation, state management and building reusable components
  • Developers work remotely and meet up once a month in the centre of Leeds for a company-wide meeting taking place from 11 am to 3 pm to give you time to commute there and back in your working day – travel can also be expensed.
  • Each Scrum will work with its Systems Architect to decide the build process; you’ll have a say in this and be involved in weekly planning meetings

We're looking for experience of:

  • Vue or React – routing, validation, reusable components etc.
  • VueX, Pinia or Redux
  • TypeScript or JavaScript
  • HTML, CSS, SASS, NPM, Bootstrap, responsive design etc.
  • Tailwind – desired

Benefits include:

  • 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays on top
  • Discretionary bonus schemes
  • Access to additional benefits via salary sacifice including gym membership, health care etc.
  • A training and development plans and access to online resources.
  • A Scottish Widows private pension scheme

Agile Business Analyst

Are you an expert at translating customer requirements into Jira tickets? And most importantly, are you looking for a role you can make your own?

If the answer is yes to all, please read on.

We have got 3 Scrum teams currently and around 18 Developers in total, we’re now looking to build a fourth Scrum team but before we do, we need an Agile Business Analyst on board to put processes in place and help them on the next stage of their journey. With plans to double the team again this year, this is an excellent opportunity to own all aspects of business analysis, being both a product owner and BA, with more BA’s due to come on board later in the year.

This is a *remote role* with monthly meet-ups in Leeds city centre. You must be UK based and within an hour or two of Leeds ideally.

The focus of the role will be:

  • Translating customer requirements into Jira tickets to be consumed by the development teams

  • Ordering and prioritising the product backlog, defining the product goal, and re-evaluating and negotiating tasks with the team to meet changing requirements.

  • Ensuring on-time and continuous delivery of quality software by optimising team-allocated resources and leveraging Agile metrics.

  • Organising and facilitating requirements gathering workshops, scoping sessions and interviews to ensure delivery of quality products

  • Being part of Scrum ceremonies, including daily stand-ups, backlog refinement, sprint planning, sprint reviews and retrospectives

We’re looking for someone with experience in this area and who is process driven and will put procedures in place to ensure an even smoother delivery of each project and a more streamlined way of working for the whole team. You’ll do this whilst working closely with their Development Manager, sitting in between him and the client team, which consists of the two Directors and two Project Managers.

As a minimum, you’ll have experience of: requirements gathering, client liaison, Jira, Agile, stories, epics and a comprehensive understanding of the full SDLC – key to this is translating requirements into Jira tickets to be consumed by the development teams and getting on top of the existing backlog, requalifying and analysing each submission.

If you’re looking for a new challenge and want autonomy, a progressive environment and a range of interesting projects – many of which with a big name – please do apply now!

Benefits include:

  • 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays on top
  • Discretionary bonus schemes
  • Access to additional benefits via salary sacifice including gym membership, health care etc.
  • A training and development plans and access to online resources.
  • A Scottish Widows private pension scheme
